A Karshner Elementary Student on a laptop

The Puyallup School District is currently recruiting volunteers to join the Student Attendance Success Board.

This is an excellent opportunity for community members, educators, and parents, to make a positive impact on the lives of students and families within the district.

What Opportunities Come With Serving on the Board?

By joining the Student Attendance Success Board, volunteers can play an essential role in shaping the future of our schools and ensuring every child in the Puyallup School District receives the support and resources they need to succeed.

Also, volunteers will have the opportunity to:

  • Collaborate with school administrators, teachers, and families to address truancy and student engagement issues.

  • Partner with community organizations and stakeholders to develop and implement strategies for improving attendance and student success.

  • Advocate for the needs of students and families within the district.

  • Participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance skills in community engagement and connecting students and families to critical resources.

Do I Need Any Prior Experience to Serve on the Board?

No prior experience is required – just a dedication to serving the community and a commitment to the success of our students. The Puyallup School District welcomes individuals from all backgrounds to apply.

The SAS Board will meet weekly, every Monday, beginning April 22nd, 2024. Meetings will be conducted in person and virtually. Board members will be assigned student-specific meetings and will not be held to the entire day. Final schedule subject to member approval.
